Police Science

The Police Science course introduces students to the laws, practices, and techniques necessary to work in police organizations and private security. Students will learn through a variety of hands-on and real-world activities such as mock trials, work-based learning internships and job shadowing, demonstrations, police patrol functions, field trips, and guest speakers. Some relevant jobs in this field include security officer, store detective, police officer, investigator, probation officer, or social worker. Students can be certified through either the 8-hour or 16-hour New York State Security Guard course.
