Two Graduating Students from Baldwin High School@Shubert Awarded Scholarships

Tristan Allen and Davianna Hill Recognized by Simon Youth Foundation

Baldwin High School@Shubert Class of 2024 graduates, Tristan Allen and Davianna Hill, received scholarships totaling $18,000 each. Davianna Hill was also asked to deliver the Student Commencement Address at the graduation ceremony, where she shared her inspiring journey and success story.

Baldwin Union Free School District’s program, Baldwin High School@Shubert, offers students, grades 9-12, the opportunity to fulfill New York State graduation requirements by earning both academic and Career and Technical Education (CTE) credits. The program is made possible through a unique collaboration between the district, Nassau BOCES, and Simon Youth Foundation (SYF). As part of the district’s partnership with SYF, a national nonprofit committed to helping students graduate by focusing on fostering educational opportunities, career development, and life skills, students in the Shubert program can apply to scholarships awarded by the not-for-profit organization.

The scholarship winners were selected based on their required application, which was reviewed by SYC’s committee, and a recommendation given by their principal, Mr. Patrick Crea.

“The generosity of Simon Youth Foundation in supporting our graduates is undisputed, and the two $18,000 scholarships received by our graduates this year will go far in securing their continued education and bright futures,” said Mr. Crea.

Tristan will attend Monroe College in New Rochelle, NY in the fall to study business, while Davianna Hill, who has started her own cookie-baking venture, plans to attend culinary school next year.
